A Social Restaurant App is a platform where you can share and discover restaurant recommendations while connecting with like-minded individuals. This makes recommendations more personal and relevant.

Our personalization is based on labels like interior style, food preferences, or a restaurant’s trend level. A photo quiz in the app helps us understand your preferences, and our algorithm becomes more precise with each interaction. Recommendations from other users with similar tastes are also factored in.

Your data stays safe with us and is never sold. To personalize your experience and provide tailored restaurant recommendations, we require some information – this is used exclusively for this purpose. Promise!

Our recommendations are independent and based solely on your preferences. Sponsored entries never appear in personalized suggestions. We focus on showing you the right restaurants – not those that pay for placement. Transparency and quality set us apart from other platforms.

Restaurants can sign up for a paid subscription, which offers benefits such as insights, increased visibility, and optimized, specialized profiles. We help restaurants fill their empty tables with the right guests. Additionally, they can reach more users outside of personalized recommendations. Sponsored posts are always clearly marked to ensure full transparency for you. These posts will not appear in the personalized recommendations. These remain and will always be independent. There are areas, such as the search with filters, where we will place such posts.

We aim to revolutionize not only restaurant recommendations but also review systems. The current 5-star system lumps everything together and can be exploited, causing significant harm to restaurants. Our review system is built on authenticity and relevance. Only people who have actually dined at a restaurant can leave feedback. Additionally, you’ll only see reviews from people with similar tastes – because those are the ones that truly matter to you.

Initially, we included a selection of restaurants that offer dinner, have a website, and provide seating. Later, we’ll expand to include aperitif spots, lunch venues, brunch cafés, and more. Have you found a restaurant that’s missing? Let us know directly in the app.

Our database is continuously growing and already includes over 1,200 curated restaurants (as of 2024). These are carefully categorized and labeled. Whether you’re in the mood for Italian, Asian, Indian cuisine, or fondue – you’ll find it all here.

We also curate menus. If a restaurant is marked as vegan on our platform, it offers a good selection of vegan options – a simple green salad doesn’t cut it. Currently, vegan and vegetarian restaurants can be explicitly filtered, and this is already reflected in personalized recommendations if we’ve learned about your preferences through the quiz. In the future, we plan to offer similar filtering options for allergies or intolerances.

We handle reservations for our users at restaurants. These can be made more quickly and at any time (online reservation system) or take a bit longer (via phone or website). We strive to process all reservations as quickly as possible and continuously improve the process. Depending on the day, time, and restaurant, tables are often booked far in advance. Unfortunately, this means we sometimes have to relay negative responses. We are working on providing better information in the future about which restaurants are more likely to have availability at a given time.

When making a reservation with a restaurant, we provide the name and phone number of the person who made the reservation on Taste Match. This ensures the reservation is correctly listed under their name at the restaurant.
